Simpson Strong-Tie’s Stockton Lab & Manufacturing Facility Tour

SEAOCC has partnered with Simpson Strong-Tie to offer SEAOCC Members an exclusive tour of their Stockton manufacturing and IAS accredited lab & testing facility.

The event will begin with a short technical presentation covering what goes behind obtaining product certifications and published product capacities. Next stop includes a tour of the manufacturing faculty so that you can see what goes in to making a product. This will be followed by a fun hands-on exercise for building and testing using a test setup to understand the nuances of product testing. After lunch, we’ll have a guided tour of the Tyrell Gilb Research Lab which is the hub of Simpson’s research and development activities by Simpson’s Research Laboratory Manager. The lab's highly specialized equipment includes a seismic shake table and large scale cyclic/static rigs capable of laterally loading five-story structures, spoiler alert, we will see a product being tested!

Attendees are responsible for arranging their own transportation.

All attendees are required to wear full pants and closed toed shoes.
